Building Codes Iran

Iran was recently hit with a 7.8 earthquake

As earthquake safety specialists, we offer our deepest condolences to the families in Iran

So far, the fatality count is at about 40 deaths and 800 injuries, and rising. There is still confusion about these numbers, and it is too early to tell. The earthquake was felt along the Iran-Pakistan border and in northern India. The alert is orange, indicating a significant economic loss, right under the three shades of red.

According to the USGS Pager: “the population in this region resides in structures that are highly vulnerable to earthquake shaking, though some resistant structures exist. The predominant vulnerable building types are adobe block and unreinforced brick with timber floor construction.”

When considering how to reinforce buildings to perform well during hard-hitting earthquakes, it is no surprise to us that these unreinforced brick structures were gravely affected. Mortar without steel reinforcement is highly dangerous, anywhere in the world. If your home or building sits on a mortar foundation or has unreinforced mortar walls, then please call our company immediately to have us come out and provide a free assessment on what you can do to strengthen your home or building.

Here at Weinstein Construction Corp., we lead the way in securing your home or building. Our methods are effective. Part of having your building retrofitted for earthquakes is the peace of mind you can go to sleep with. With so many tremors all over the world, not just in the Ring of Fire along the Pacific Ocean, every family deserves the quality of life we promote through better building code standards and some of the best in the world, at a significantly low cost.

Please call us today and find out why we are the best in earthquake protection and earthquake retrofitting services!
